LOOKING FOR A HOME
PENN PORSHE
Neutered Male Dog
Born May 2002

Porshe has been in our Kennels since 13th November 2005. He is a very loving dog who can give the impression of being boisterous when first meeting new people. Porshe last raced in October 2005 and since that time has remained in kennels waiting for the home he desperately needs. It is thought that Porshe would need an owner with some experience he would not be suitable with small dogs or cats. Please don’t make Porshe unlucky “13” (his date of entry into our kennels) give him a chance when you consider adopting a greyhound he has so much to give

Welcome to the Oxford Retired Greyhound Trust website.
We are the local (Oxfordshire) branch of the national Retired Greyhound Trust organisation which seeks to find homes for ex-racing greyhounds once they have retired.
At present the Oxford RGT has kennel space, rented from a local trainer, for up to 10 dogs and seeks to rehabilitate these dogs into homes where they can become family pets. There is a long waiting list for space in the RGT kennels, as we take retired dogs from all of the 14 Oxford greyhound trainers.
If you are interested in helping with the work of the Oxford RGT there are a number of ways in which you can get involved. Take a look around the website for more details.
- Adopt a greyhound from our kennels: the primary purpose of the RGT is to rehabilitate racing greyhounds into a home environment where they can become well-loved pets for the rest of their lives, so this is naturally the most direct way to help the work of the RGT. Contrary to popular opinion, greyhounds are very laid back in the home and make great, gentle pets. All the RGT greyhounds will have been neutered and vaccinated before they leave our kennels to help provide you with a healthy and well mannered pet. Take a look at our 'Adopting a greyhound' page for more information, or if you've made up your mind, visit the 'Dogs looking for Homes' page. When thinking of adopting a greyhound please consider some of our boys they seem to get overlooked because of size
- Make a donation to Oxford RGT: Oxford RGT is a charity and entirely dependant on the generosity of donators in order to meet its ongoing expenses (the main one of which being kennel costs). Any type or size of donation to the RGT is appreciated. To donate online please click on the "Just Giving" box on the right hand side of this page.
- Volunteer: The Oxford RGT is run and organised entirely by volunteers, and as such is dependent on local people giving up their time to help out. Contact us via the Contacts page to find out how to get involved in raising funds or awareness for the Oxford RGT.
